Judges described the winning game as addictive, well targeted and nicely designed. The word game, which is based on conundrum-solving, enables users to rearrange fridge magnet letters against the clock to form recognised words and score points.

It was developed by Green Cathedral in a bid to engage with a younger audience of prospective students aged 17-25, introducing them to the OU brand. The idea was based on the values and benefits of the OU and the fact that people can study from home - hence the 'Kitchen' scenario.

The campaign is ongoing but early results are encouraging. The first 24 hours showed a third of visitors returned to play again and 15 per cent of the total visitors referred the game to their friends. Two course registrations were directly attributed to the game.
