BIMA Member News: Evans chooses Tamar for SEO project

Article Date: 15th Feb 2008

Search conversion agency Tamar has been selected by Evans as its natural search partner with the aim of considerably increasing website traffic and sales through SEO in 2008.

In the highly competitive online retail market Evans is implementing the SEO campaign to build its brand awareness online, increase natural search traffic to its website and crucially convert more of this traffic into sales.

Specialists in search conversion, Tamar were chosen by the Arcadia group, of which Evans are a part, after a competitive pitch. They were deemed the best fit for the brand, and offered a great track record within the retail sector.

Megan Powell, eCommerce Marketing Manager at Evans, said: "In today's online shopping market, competition is fierce so we must look to build the Evans brand online, drive traffic to the site and also focus on converting these visitors into loyal customers.

“We chose to work with Tamar based on their past successes with other high profile brands and the commitment and passion they showed for our brand during the pitch process. We are already seeing an impressive increase in search traffic and online sales."

In the initial phase of the SEO campaign, Evans has seen a 1,000 per cent increase in the amount of natural search traffic its site receives, and a massive 1,500 per cent increase in online revenue.

Prior to working with Tamar, Evans was not running a specific SEO campaign but was undertaking a variety of online activities including website usability testing, running an affiliate programme and weekly email activity. They are now also involved in PPC advertising

Lesley Oliver, Client Service Director comments, "Evans realises the need to take a conversion-focused approach to SEO in order to be successful in a highly competitive market place. We are delighted to be working with another high profile retail brand like Evans, and this appointment is testament to our continued success in this sector."
