BIMA Member News: Optiman, The Super Architect Saves London!
Article Date: 26th Aug 2008
For all those architects out there who’ve been holding out for a hero, Optima have come up with a treat.
‘Optiman’- the Super Architect, created to market Optima Systems partitioning is causing a viral fuss amongst construction professionals and online gamers alike.
The game, featuring architect-by-day, superhero-by-night, ‘Optiman’, was built by award winning web design agency Cyber-Duck (whose previous triumphs include the Monty Python inspired Periscopix site).
The game concept is simple: Direct Optiman and his hard-hat across London as fast as possible. On the way gamers should try to pick up Optima ‘coins’ and awards and avoid the various hazards of the city.
The simple controls, classic 2D game play and engaging graphics of cartoon London make this game as addictive as Pacman and Frogger; it’s not surprising that since its launch in May, the game has attracted hundreds of regular players hell-bent on topping the Optiman hall of fame.
It’s really great to see a company like Optima Systems putting itself out there via a viral platform. Viral marketing always used to be the favourite of cult film makers and musicians, but games like ‘Optiman’ are proving that going viral can work for any kind of business.
